SOCIAL CODING
OUR PROGRAMMES
At Social Coding, we facilitate programmes that positively impact our youth’s agency, access and equity.
Social Coding’s flagship programs are meticulously crafted to bridge the digital divide in rural African communities, focusing on empowering the youth with essential digital skills, facilitating their entry into the digital economy, and fostering sustainable development within their locales.
We have three main programs that support three categories of youth: Unemployed youth out of school, junior high schoolers, and senior high schoolers.
Untapped Program:
Catalyzing Digital Empowerment and Economic Resilience
Objective: The Untapped Program is our flagship program, a transformative initiative designed to elevate unemployed rural youth by providing them with critical digital literacy, relevant technology skills, entrepreneurship, and facilitator training, allowing them to become a part of our train-the-trainer model. This one-year program targets individuals aged 18 to 33, offering more than just skills—it opens doors to economic opportunities, fostering self-reliance and community development.
Junior Pioneers Program (JPP):
Laying the Foundation for a Digital Future
Objective: Targeting grades 8 and 9, the JPP aims to ignite a passion for technology and develop essential 21st Century Skills among rural students.
This entry-level program serves as a crucial stepping stone, preparing students for advanced learning and future economic participation by fostering creativity, critical thinking, and digital fluency.
NXT Grad Program:
Advancing Careers Beyond the Classroom
Objective: The NXT Grad Program is an advanced initiative for students in grades 10 to 12, designed to exceed the foundational digital literacy acquired through JPP.
It encompasses a comprehensive curriculum that includes advanced technology skills, financial literacy, and career readiness, with an emphasis on sustainable agriculture and entrepreneurship.
